Tell us about yourself
Jessica Aspen always wanted to be spirited away to a world inhabited by elves, were-wolves and sexy men who walk on the dark side of the knife. Luckily, she's able to explore her fantasy side and delve into new worlds by writing paranormal romance. She loves indulging in dark chocolate, reading eclectic novels, and dreaming of ocean vacations, but instead spends most of her time writing her spicy twisted fairy tales, walking the dog, and hiking in the amazing Colorado Rockies.
Her first novella, LITTLE RED RIDING WOLF, came out in 2012 from Passion in Print Press and has been a finalist in two different contests; Passionate Ink's 2011 Stroke of Midnight and Desert Rose RWA's 2013 Golden Quill. It also received a 2013 Holt Medallion Award of Merit from the Virginia Romance Writers and is now available as RED: A Sexy Shifter Fairytale Romance.
Jessica is currently working on the latest book in her new fantasy romance series, TALES OF THE BLACK COURT, where three witches take on the faery queen and discover love with the fae. Book one, THE DARK HUNTSMAN, came out in October 2013 to excellent reviews and is a 2014 finalist in the RONE Awards and the Golden Quill, as well as a Night Owl Reviews Top Pick.
Jessica has served as her chapter’s Treasurer, PRO Liasion and PAL Liasion, chaired the audit committee, and spent four years on the tea committee. She is a member of RWA, CRW, FF&P and PRO,and has a degree in English Literature and Elementary Education from the University of Colorado.
