Today's Quote: I learned that inspiration does not come like a bolt, nor is it kinetic, energetic, striving, but it comes to us slowly and quietly and all the time, though we must regularly and every day give it a little chance to start flowing, prime it with a little solitude and idleness. - Brenda Ueland
Great quote Robin!! Nothing like facing those empty pages and then filling them!

"The artist is nothing without the gift, but the gift is nothing without work." Emile Zola
If you would have told me a year ago that I would be seriously pursuing my dream of writing romance I would have laughed at you. I wanted to share that I am not yet published but I am writing and feeling good. I am so proud of myself for finishing by second work. I hope that this motivates the group!! We are so lucky we are to have such a great support system. You guys rock!!!
Build the dream with all your heart and before you know it you find that the dream is in fact building you. - Josh S. Hinds
YOU rock! One of the bottom line questions as to whether you're a writer or not is whether you feel better on a day that you write than when you don't. GO!
When you follow your bliss... doors will open where you would not have thought there would be doors; and where there wouldn't be a door for anyone else. Joseph Campbell
this should be a Robin Owens quote. I never thought about feeling better when I write, and some days it doesn't go well. But when it does i fly!!!

Actually, I got that comment long ago from a critique buddy of mine. She felt better on the days she wrote. (and I certainly do, I'm very perky today due to yesterday). And what's more interesting, this no longer applies to her and she is no longer writing (but still in critique group because she is Awesome).
Just to show we all edit...

"The work is rather too light, bright, and sparkling; it wants
shade; it wants to be stretched out here and there with a long
chapter of sense, if it could be had; if not of solemn specious
nonsense, about something unconnected with the story; an essay on
writing, a critique of Walter Scott, or a history of Buonaparte,
or anything that would form a contrast, and bring the reader with
increased delight to the playfulness and epigrammatism of the
general style.'

Jane Austin
Amateurs wait for inspiration. The rest of us just get up and go to work.

- Chuck Close

Figured it had been a while since we had a quote!
